Michael Vinson

COMMUNICATIONS, ESG, MEDIA & ARTS LEADER

Michael Louis Vinson is the author of “Together We Rise: A Gentle Celebration of Earth & Us," a lyrical bedtime book that cherishes the beauty of our natural world and the connection we share as one human family.

He is Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Schreiber Foods, where he leads Communications, Sustainability, Community Relations, Government Relations and Industry Affairs. In this role, he also chair’s Schreiber’s ESG Leadership Council.

He is currently Treasurer of the board of directors at Wisconsin Watch and serves on the board at the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation.

He was also Vice Chair of the board of directors at Arts Midwest, which serves a nine-state region in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. Previously, he held an arts leadership fellowship at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, Ill. Michael has served as a grant panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts for both Theatre and Presenting & Multidisciplinary work.

A former journalist, Michael holds a Master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University, where he was a McCormick Scholar, and earned his bachelor's degree in Government at Harvard University, where he was a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar.

At Schreiber, Michael was founding chair the PRIDE business resource group. In January 2021, Michael was appointed to serve on the Equal Rights Commission for the City of Green Bay, Wis., where Michael lives with his husband and children.

Michael also served as board chair of Fair Wisconsin, Inc., the state's leading advocacy organization for the LGBTQ community, where he supported the organization in several board leadership capacities. He likewise served on the LGBT Caucus Advisory Board for the one of the two national political parties in the U.S.

In 2008, Michael was awarded “30 Under 30” recognition by the Windy City Times. He was named one of Wisconsin’s “Most Influential Black Leaders” in 2022 by Madison365, a statewide recognition of leaders shaping the state’s future through business, community, and cultural contributions.
